There is no difference from the upgraded version to the free version so dont waste your money.The person you are tracking has to constantly update the Gps tracker even w the app open it stops tracking the person. I use this for my daughter so luckily she is compliant and re opens the app when I tell her I cant track her location but if you have a rebellious teen you might not be so lucky
